THE BEATLES - Live At The Hollywood Bowl (2016)
Back in 1977, the Beatles released The Beatles At The Hollywood Bowl, a live album capturing the bands riotous mid-60s concerts in L.A. The chaos, I might almost say panic, that reigned at these concerts was unbelievable unless you were there, said producer George Martin upon its release. Now, a new album documenting the concerts has been announced by Apple Corps Ltd. and Universal Music Group. The record was directly sourced, remixed, and remastered from the original three-track recordings, by Giles Martin and Sam Okell at Abbey Road Studios. Its out September 9, as a companion album to Ron Howards forthcoming documentary The Beatles: Eight Days A Week - The Touring Years. As well as four previously unreleased recordings, the album package includes a 24-page booklet featuring a new David Fricke essay. This album includes 13 original live tracks taken from concerts at the Hollywood Bowl in 1964 and 1965 plus four previously unreleased songs, which were sourced directly from the three-track tapes of the concerts and were remixed and mastered at the Abbey Road studios by George Martin's son, Giles, and engineer Sam Okell.
